When I do a realitytest, I sometimes try to 'scare' myself. Not with real fear obviously, that would be quite disturbing, but the exciting kind of 'fear' before doing something exciting like going in a rollercoaster. This makes realitytesting more fun and adds more mindfulness to the test, because I have to engage in the 'fear'. So a realitytest would be like this: 'Wait a minute, isn't this a dream? Oh god, do I even remember waking up this morning? Are my surroundings even normal?' (read the test as if you are scared, then you know what I mean haha).
Are there any cons to doing this? It makes realitytesting quite exciting actually so it makes me want to do more, but if there are any cons, I want to know.
Interesting idea! I wonder if this will program your mind to equate lucid dreams with "fear", though? I often try to hype myself up when I do reality tests, but more in a "little kid on christmas" way. I imagine how exciting it would be, how happy it would make me if this was a lucid dream.
