Listen and relax while you post...
Hello fellow avain! While I do not know the exact terms for these techniques (and therefore not the best source of information), I don't use any alarm methods, so, I found this relatable and wanted to help a little bit.
I would say a go to "method" is reality checking. There's no need for alarms to do it and you don't need anything else besides yourself. I believe that I've seen you post something about reality checks not working, so, this may not be the best one for you, but, it's where most people start (and is my primary "method).
Dream journaling is another good thing to do since you can pick up dream signs from reading your dream logs each day and picking up patterns. While I'm a bit of a hypocrite, when I was dream journaling often, I was able to pick up some signs. These can help you discover when you should reality check but can help you become more aware of when you see them - both dreaming and in real life.
While I haven't been successful in my WILD attempts, I would say that just laying in bed and visualing can help. I've been close with this (vivid hypnagogia) while not even knowing it was actually for a WILD attempt. The name of this technique slips my mind at the moment, but, if you have some patience and are good staying still, it may get you a WILD!
Good luck with lucid dreaming! It seems that you've already made good progress so keep it up!
