I know there's been a discussion on if you're always in REM during napping and the view was it was down to what type of sleep you were deprived of but I wanted to get a feel for how useful people have found napping to be for lucid dreaming.
Have you managed to get lucid a lot or just once in a while and is it worth making it part of your regular attempts and if so, could you lose the last hour of sleep in the morning to then encourage REM activity in an hour nap later?
I think Daniel said it wasn't a great time for it but I could be wrong.
I have had a positive experience the first (and only to this point, though I will change that) time I sincerely tried a lucid nap, if you will. The details I already put down in this post: https://www.thelucidguide.com/forum/dreamstate/some-data-on-longer-sleep-interruptions
As for techniques, I counted my breaths to sixty, asked myself if I were dreaming and then nodded off, if one can call that a technique.
I would define a nap as happening a few hours or more (usually well over a few hours) after waking for the day. With that definition I have almost no luck getting lucid during a nap but I have heard that others do. This is despite the fact that I average getting lucid about 2-3 times per week.
