What do you call a period of REM where you are consciously seated on a toilet?
A loo-sit dream.
The above is a modified version of a joke told by Flo, a member of the LDP channel, on what I believe was the 25k subscriber celebration stream (now deleted) almost exactly a year ago. The interesting part is that something quite like this actually happened just last night for me.
Basically, I realized I was dreaming because I was sitting on a toilet fully clothed and in a room other than the bathroom. I had no idea how I got there, and the situation was silly, so it caused a brief loo sit dream which then became a normal lucid dream as I got up and explored around.
I’m pretty sure the 25k subs celebration happened on the 24th or so last year, so this is a big coincidence. I wonder if the theory about your brain matching dreams from events one year ago is true? (Like your personal lucid dream day for example) Who knows. It probably doesn’t mean anything, unless COSMØTRON is messing with us. It’s a funny story though.
I think this thread should be for anyone to share their weirdest “this is a dream” moments that caused DILDs (regained awareness dreams). Feel free to share!
I've had three wacky things happen that caused DILDs. I'll go one over quickly (as it's already been posted about on the forum) and and I'll go into the other two into a little more detail.
The first one is because I said the sentence "we're the kings now!" The dream was about this zombie apocalypse and me and this group of three others were teamed up. It was like a game to how long you could survive in a zombie apocalypse and, after two of our teammates go down, me and my friend are running down this street. I can see the timer hit 30 (meaning that we had been alive for 30 days) and I shouted that sentence outloud. I remember that sparked lucidity as I was like "wait a second, I'm a female." In general, I think a large chuck of why I was able to tell it was a dream was because I had a dream previous to this one that was also a lucid (same REM cycle, just woke up between them for a quick second).
Another lucid was caused by hearing sounds of screeching and alerts that clones of my family had just arrived in the house. I think I reality checked when I ran out of the house and got into my car for a breather. I remember very little of the dream (as it was a short one) but after, I got out and leaned down to touch some grass and it felt very real (I had really only felt wind in lucids previous to this). I than ran out of my yard (to avoid the clones) and I lost lucidity.
The third one was because I was repeatedly getting pulled over and I was getting tired of it. Each time I got pulled over, some weird "law" (no sewing needles, no scrunchies) would be created and I was getting frustrated because I was trying to do everything correctly to not get pulled over. The police start doing some weird things (cutting flowers petal by petal) while questioning us and I just realize I'm dreaming out of the blue. I take off running and then I run out of the door to my house? I take a right when I reach the end of the driveway and then the dream basically becomes me unintentionally haunting people while I look for a mirror to try and complete a dream goal.
