Hi there, new to the forum, and wanting to get some insight into my lucid dreaming experiences! I don't have them regularly, but recently when I have become lucid, I have tried to talk to people in my dream, asking my subconcious to reveal something to me.
The first time I did this, the people personifying my subconscious started joking around and not revealing anything serious.
Then last night, I tried again. I asked two characters " what dark thing do I need to know about my subconscious?", I suppose trying to access any past traumas that need healing. As soon as I asked, a guy in the dream immediately came inbetween me and the guys I asked, saying "what are you doing? You need to grow up!", as if like a security guard not letting me enter a club as I wasn't old enough!
It seems my subconscious is blocking access from my concious mind.. Any tips on what to do? Perhaps daytime practices or even different questions to ask when I'm lucid?
Thanks!
I've heard that it is not uncommon for dream characters to get irritated when you ask them if you are dreaming or otherwise reveal that you are aware that it is a dream! I can't speak from personal experience, though...
Interesting stuff, alas I've never engaged in conversation in my lucids to date, definitely on my list of "to-dos" though.
I'd guess that persistence will be your answer but I'm sure others will chime in with their experiences.
