So, I don’t know if there is another post like this one, but I thought it would be an interesting topic. I see quite a few questions here and there about what languages you should set intentions with, like, “I will lucid dream and record it in my dream journal in the morning” etc. Also the occasional “Does everyone dream in their first language?” So I am going to share some dream goals and also language related ideas here.
Basically, I was recently trying to get a bit more immersion in Spanish, so I switched some language settings around in video games I play a lot. This resulted in more dreams with Spanish in them, but just from me speaking it occasionally. I wonder if this trend will continue, and it’s surprising how quick my dreams responded to more language immersion. I know media influences your dreams, so perhaps that is why the shift was very quick.
Now for some more lucid dream related ideas. One of my current dream goals is to use telekinesis and telepathy to interact with the dream. In “Are you Dreaming”, the idea of communicating to dream characters with thought alone interested me, because I never really thought of that. In addition, it raises the question: Is every conversation in your dreams just thoughts? “Yes“is the logical answer, but what’s the difference between saying something out loud to a dream character and thinking it at them? Obviously, if you expect them to not get your message, they won’t, as telepathy doesn’t work in waking life. If they do, are you just interacting with your own mind? If you read the mind of a dream character, is that your raw thoughts? If you think really hard about walking in a dream and expect to move by thought alone, what will happen? Anyway, back on topic, I don’t know if there is a specific language based lucid dream induction technique (if there is, link it in the comments.) What I mean is not something like MILD or intention setting, but more like seeing the term, “Are you dreaming” or something of the like multiple times a day in another language, so that it would travel into your dreams? Just an idea.
There’s so much to explore with lucid dreams in the subject of communication. For example other non spoken languages like sign language, Braille, Morse code, etc can be used in dreams. You could make your own language even. Put some ideas in the comments below. I hope at least some of this made sense, otherwise there is major irony here. And of course, Δοκιμή πραγματικότητας τώρα.
I do think that any interaction with dream characters is interaction with your own mind – everything you do in a lucid dream is, in my opinion. Telepathy and telekinesis should absolutely be possible! In a recent dream, I fluently sang a song in French that I used to love many, many years ago. I haven't really spoken French in something like 20 years, so in waking life, I would most likely not be able to do that. Experimenting with language in (lucid) dreams sounds like an interesting idea! I'm not sure I get your idea, though: so you would write "Are you Dreaming?" in different languages in different places where you would see it during the day, in the hopes that it would show up in a dream? What would the benefits be of the phrase being in another language? And: Ευχαριστώ για την υπενθύμιση!
