Status: I used to have lots of DILDs for a period of time about a decade ago, but I did not know back then that's what they were. I've only seriously started to try to LD again late November 2020, but I haven't achieved lucidity yet. I feel that one of the biggest hurdles I'm struggling with is that I know what my dream signs are (I almost never have dreams WITHOUT at least one of them), but I never remember to RC in my dreams. I do RC often during the day, and especially when I encounter one of my dream signs in real life. Other than that, I've started a new bedtime routine: when I go to bed, I turn on meditation music and think about my dream signs for a while, one by one, while doing RCs whenever my focus shifts to the next dream sign. Then I do my usual bedtime meditation, think about my mantras for a few minutes and go to sleep. What else can I do to get it though my skull that a dream sign should always be followed by a reality check?

Daniel talks a lot about knowing how you yourself learn best and remember to do things. The way that you might remember to do things in the future is going to be different to the way I do that. Are you a visual learner? An auditory learner? For me personally, I discovered that creating an image in my head to help my prospective memory helps a lot. For example, I always was forgetting to take a certain vitamin before going to bed. So I came up with a funny picture in my mind of when I go to put toothpaste on my toothbrush, the toothpaste instead shoots up into my mouth and tastes really bad. This in turn reminds me that I need to take my vitamin to get rid of this gross taste. Ever since I came up with this visualization, I haven't forgotten to take my vitamin : ) I was actually really surprised with how well this worked. I have just applied this same method with my dream signs. Hope you find what works best for you : )
