I know Daniel Love covered this briefly in a livestream a while back. For some reason, the livestream I'm thinking of is nowhere to be found at the moment, so I can't link it (I clipped the relevant part, but that clip isn't working either at the moment), but if/when it shows back up, I'll come back here and provide a link. In any case, what Love suggested was as follows:
If you need to perform a more subtle reality test during social interactions, one way you can do so is, during a conversation, to quickly alternate between looking at a person's shoes and their eyes, and check for any changes. So: Look at their eyes, look at their shoes, look back at their eyes, look at their shoes again. If I understand Love correctly, this is meant to be a form of stability test that "overloads" the brain enough that something will change when in a dream, such as the colour of the person's eyes and/or shoes.
It's also important to note that, for these situations, I believe Love recommends telling yourself that you should perform a "regular", more thorough and mindful reality test as soon as you get the chance (so engaging your prospective memory and have it remind you to perform a better-quality reality test as soon as you get the chance, essentially).
