So I fell asleep and for some reason in said dream I go, „This is a dream“ and I feel somewhat conscious but it was fake I wasn’t conscious at all in it- this has happened twice now but this one ended with a false start where I thought I woke up, restarted a playlist and fell back asleep but when in reality that never happened. Why has this happened??

Hello there!
Before I start: I'm not an expert on lucid dreaming, so please keep that in mind, and see this reply as a pointer on what you might want to look into.
With that out of the way: If I understand you correctly regarding the first part, it sounds like you may be close to having an actual lucid dream. You may have heard Daniel Love say that having a "fake" lucid dream (a dream about having a lucid dream) often happens shortly before an actual lucid dream.
The part where you thought you woke up but actually didn't sounds like what's called a false awakening to me. I don't get them often myself, but from what I understand, they're fairly common. I know Daniel Love / Lucid Dream Portal tends to recommend that you always perform a reality test when you wake up, for this exact reason. More on this in the following video:
[Video] How to Lucid Dream for Beginners (Complete Guide)
If you are a member of the Lucid Dream Portal channel, there are additional videos you can watch that cover these topics, but I hope this helps!
