Is there anything more frustrating? A couple of nights ago, with my recall rate returning again, I dreamed of telling other DCs about how I had become lucid and they were all “meh”. It started with me thinking I should become lucid and do I started doing things like running up walls to escape some pursuers amongst other things but I wasn’t actually lucid!
It‘s progress but also a frustrating situation. It’s also the closest I’ve been to lucidity in a while and the first time I’ve had what you might call a low level lucid dream, so interesting.
I have had a couple of low-level lucid dreams like that, I used to find them annoying but now I find them just as enjoyable as a normal lucid dream. They seem to be the most bizarre of dreams for me.👁🗨
I've found that in my "fake" lucid dreams my dream self seems to be way more clear headed and bold in her dream control. For example, she can keep "lucidity" throughout the dream, be able to just hack the dream into doing mostly whatever she wants to do (flying, going through walls), and just being more bold in general. And then there's me in a real lucid dream who just sometimes tries to prove to people that they are fake (and that I'm dreaming) by doing reality checks and impossible things in front of them. It's frustrating to wake up from one, but, it feels good to say that you almost had a lucid dream - it's progress and a good way to reflect on what your subconscious does when it thinks it's your consciousness!
I’m doing ok with my practices, still, we can always do better. At least now I can analyse my brain states!
Great stuff, Dan. I've sporadically had them myself in the past, but at that time I usually didn't really keep the effort going due to my own laziness. It started up again when I started putting proper effort back in. Now is the time to keep the foot on the gas, Dan!
Putting some extra effort now into testing and general awareness would be good.
I know what you mean! I've had dreams like that, but I've decided to just be happy about them because they are progress.
